How to book an appointment and order your prescription


If you need a GP appointment
Pre booked appointments can be booked via your online access (up to 3 weeks in advance) or by contacting our reception team. When you ring to book a pre booked appointment, you will be offered the choice of either a face to face or telephone appointment. If you book via your online account, please INDICATE your preference of appointment. We have increased the availability of pre-booked appointments.

We continue to provide a telephone call backs for acute medical issues that need on the day attention. You will receive a call back from one of the duty team clinicians who will triage the call to determine the most appropriate next stage. In addition, our reception team may direct you to the most timely and appropriate service for your needs provided by our local and city-wide services so please be prepared for the Receptionist to ask you for the reason you need an appointment.

If you need a nurse appointment
You should telephone the surgery. Please be prepared for the Receptionist to ask you for the reason you need an appointment so we can give you an appropriate time slot.

Midwife appointment
Our Midwife is seeing our pregnant ladies in a face to face appointment in her clinic on Thursday mornings.  Please book at Reception.

Online appointment booking 
Patients can book appointments through their online access login.  PLEASE INDICATE IF YOU WISH FOR A FACE TO FACE OR TELEPHONE APPOINTMENT. If you have booked a telephone appointment, one of the Duty Team doctors will telephone you on that day so you will need to keep your phone nearby and be ready to answer the call preferably in a quiet environment.

When you book your appointment online, please can you enter the reason for the call back in the space provided. Our Receptionist may call you prior to your appointment as we have the facility for you to send in a photo of your problem which will be viewed by the clinician.

If you do not have a log in for online access or you have forgotten your username or password, please telephone the surgery on 0114 2666528.

Face to Face appointments
If you have an appointment please:

  • be clear which entrance you have been asked to use

If you need to cancel an appointment please advise us as soon as possible, that way we can offer it to another patient.

There are 3 options for you to use to order your repeat prescription:

  • We actively encourage you to order your prescriptions through your online services account as this is available 24 hrs a day.  If you do not have an online account, please speak to the receptionist who will set this up for you.
  • If you wish to order your prescription over the telephone, please note that we only accept telephone requests between 10 am – 12 pm daily.
  • You can order by posting your request to us either via the postal service or through our letter box
