Travel Vaccinations

Travel Vaccinations at Greystones Medical Centre

Greystones Medical Centre provides the following NHS-funded travel vaccinations free of charge if relevant to your destination:

  • Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio (combined vaccine)
  • Typhoid
  • Hepatitis A
  • Cholera*

*Please note that cholera is an oral vaccination and is subject to the standard NHS prescription charge.

To ensure sufficient time for vaccination planning and administration, all patients are required to complete a Pre-Travel Assessment Form at least 8 weeks before travel. You can download the form below or, alternatively, contact reception and a link can be sent to you via text message.

Once the completed form has been returned to reception, the Practice Nurse will review the information provided to determine which vaccinations are required. We will then contact you to arrange a nurse appointment. This appointment must take place at least 6 weeks prior to your departure date. After vaccination, your immune system needs time to respond, build antibodies, and reach optimal protection levels.

If you have a complex itinerary involving travel to more than two countries, or if you require vaccinations at short notice, we may be unable to offer an appointment at the surgery. In these circumstances, you should consider using a private travel clinic from the outset.

You can access your vaccination history through the NHS App. Alternatively, if you require a copy of your vaccination record, please contact reception, and a member of the team will be happy to assist.
