Shingles Vaccinations

A vaccine to prevent shingles, a common, painful skin disease is now available for free on the NHS. The vaccine is expected to reduce your risk of getting shingles. If you are unlucky enough to go on to have the disease, your symptoms may be milder and the illness shorter.

Only one vaccination is needed and will provide lifelong protection.

The shingles vaccination is available to all patients in the year they turn 70 or 78.

All patients who are eligible to receive the shingles vaccination have been written to. Please contact reception to book a appointment  if you want to be given the shingles vaccination. The shingles vaccination can be given at the same time as the seasonal flu vaccination.
